Andorra and the smuggler route

Well it's Friday 15th July, yesterday we travelled across the border into the principality of Andorra. A tax free shopping area, filled up our tanks with diesel at 85 cents a litre, did some shopping and the spent some time at the spa. The by the evening it saw us planning the exit over the mountains via the old smuggler route. The track was very bumpy and narrow with large ruts until you reached the high peaks at which point it opened up and the surface became smoother. An excellent route with two river crossings and some very steep drops at the side of the road. It took nearly three hours to get back to the campsite which was followed by an excellent meal at the local restaurant with a couple of jugs of sangria to help wash it down. Today it's time to leave our campsite at Sort and move on towards France and the coast.
